Prestige in

The Prestige model was built as a showvan for the motorhome shows in 2017 to demonstrate the quality of construction and how subtle changes could make it either a rear lounge layout or a fixed bed conversion. It was featured in issue 8 of Campervan Magazine and allowed us to improve in areas critiqued by a leisure industry journalist.

The wide passage through the galley area allows the kitchen appliances to be easily accessed without impeding on entry to the shower room.

All external vents and service points are located on the driver’s side to keep the sliding door side clear when fixing a detachable awning or enjoying the outdoors from beneath an extending canopy.

The rear lounge and front captain’s seats combine to give ample day-van facilities for up to six people and the inclusion of a front dinette allows the flexibility to leave the rear bed made up during the day when touring and still be able to sit at a table.

The rear bench seating quickly and easily transforms into a double bed without over-exertion or installing additional panels.

The kitchen area consists of a slim-line twin burner hob with integrated sink unit. The flush fitting glass top provides a generous worktop area when closed. A gas oven and grill is provided to enable more cooking facilities, but this can be replaced with a combination microwave (if preferred).

An additional worktop area is provided over the full-size fridge. This is a useful feature for when the kitchen is not in use and the front seats are being used to watch T.V.   A pop-up socket provides a hidden extra power source for the charging of mobile phones and tablets.

The galley between the kitchen and utility area has additional mood lighting (in a variety of colours) for a relaxing feel at night or when a low level of light is required.

The cost of this conversion would typically be approximately £19,000 to the specification listed below. The demonstrator vehicle was fitted with over £2,000  of additional equipment including a canopy awning, a diesel heater and alloy wheels. Fixed bed models are usually cheaper and can start from as little as £7,500 for basic conversions.
